Tadamun Social society in collaboration with Save the Children International (SCI) distributed learning materials including exercise books, white chalks, colored chalks , registration books for teachers, pencils, erasers and school bags for four schools namely Dayah school, Gargaar school, Bender-kasim school and Taleh school in Bossaso.
These four schools are supported by the HPA project supported by the SCI and implemented by TASS the distribution of the learning materials was benefited by over 500 students from the IDPs communities and well as the host communities and the distribution of the learning materials was meant to meet the needs of the most deprived children in Puntland to get access to education and receive adequate free learning materials.
Students received the learning materials ranged from standard one to grade eight students, the learning materials distribution also reached many children who could not attend the schools because they could not afford to buy the books and other learning materials that was prerequisite for them to come and attend the schools.
The community structure mainly the community education committee known as (CEC) and parents were extremely pleased and delighted to see that learning books to be supported to the needy students who are often deprived the basic human needs one of the active CEC member of the Taleh school Fatima said “ The distribution of these free learning materials came to the right time when the new school year was to open and guess what all children require books to write their respective subjects and the parents of many children in this school are not able to meet the demands of their student this will reduce the burden for parents and we thank for all people who participated this to be distributed to the right people “
The headmaster of Gargaar School Mr. Mukhtar “mentioned that this will boost the students learning and knowledge acquisition attitude as this will stimulate their desire to learn more and stay connected with school activities TASS distributed many sports and learning materials for several times but this time is the best time as the school is resuming its regular study season and students require books to write I on behalf of the school and the community resides here we show our appreciation and gratitude to the donors and the implementing partner for satisfying the present needs of our children who can’t meet at the moment because of financial constraints and other difficulties we encounter.
Ahmed Geedi standard five (5) stduent of Benderkaism had shared his gratitude to SCI and TASS and he said “you see I am carrying 7 new books of hundred sheets each that I was not expecting I will receive when I was coming to school at this morning but it’s a blessing from Allah and Allah blesses us all the times I want to thank all of you people uncles and aunts thank you very much. in addition to that the head teacher of Dayah school said “ this learning materials will motivate the present students at the school and will also attract the other to attend at the school in other way its enabling students to get access to the schools and education which we have been working with TASS and SCI and this will add value with our work and motivation we share our gratitude to all of you people who made this learning materials to reach the intended people .
