TASS was established in 1992 by Somali professionals informed by the need to ensure continuity of education at a time when Somalia was undergoing a serious conflict. We began our operations in Bosaso with establishment of schools.
Over the years we have grown to be one of the leading humanitarian and development actors in Puntland with a strong brand recognition especially in the education sector.
We are legally registered and recognized by the Puntland state and the federal government of Somalia. Whereas we closely collaborate with public authorities, we maintain autonomy which allows us to always act to provide much needed humanitarian assistance. We are guide by the core humanitarian standards in our operations.
Our core programs are in disaster management operations, education, health nutrition and social services, protection and water, sanitation, and hygiene.
TASS is governed by a board of directors. Our operations are spearheaded by a management team led by the executive director while our branch offices are led by field managers.
