Commencement of School Construction WorksProject: Construction of 200 Housing Units with Service Facilities in KismayoConstruction activities continue at a steady and consistent pace under the project “Construction of 200 Housing Units with Health, Educational, and Basic Infrastructure Facilities for Flood-Affected Communities in Kismayo, Federal Republic of Somalia,” funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

On 21 December 2025, excavation and construction works officially commenced for the school building, which is one of the key service facilities within the project. This progress comes as part of the ongoing implementation of the project components in line with the approved plan, reflecting a strong commitment to providing an integrated residential environment that includes essential services—most notably education—thereby contributing to improved living conditions for beneficiaries and enhancing community stability.
It is worth noting that the project was officially launched and its foundation stone laid on Monday, 24 November 2025, with the participation of representatives from KSrelief (the donor), officials from the Jubaland Government, and the management of Al-Tadamun Social Society as the implementing partner.
Construction works are being carried out under comprehensive engineering and technical supervision by all relevant stakeholders, including government entities, the engineering consultancy office, the donor, and the implementing partner, to ensure adherence to approved technical standards and to achieve high quality across all stages of implementation.
This project is considered one of the humanitarian initiatives aimed at supporting the recovery of flood-affected communities by providing safe and dignified housing, improving living conditions, and strengthening the capacity of local communities to withstand natural disasters.
