Kismayo, Somalia – 5 June 2026 – The KSrelief-funded project to construct 200 housing units and essential community facilities for flood-affected families in Kismayo has reached a significant milestone with the commencement of internal and external plastering works.
The project, which includes residential housing, health and educational facilities, and supporting infrastructure, is progressing steadily following the completion of major structural works. The start of plastering marks the transition into the finishing stage of construction.
Implemented by the Tadamun Social Society, the project aims to provide safe, durable, and sustainable housing solutions for vulnerable families affected by recurrent flooding, while improving access to essential services and strengthening community resilience.
Construction activities continue under close engineering and technical supervision to ensure compliance with approved specifications and quality standards. Since the project’s launch in November 2025, substantial progress has been achieved across multiple project components.
Upon completion, the project is expected to improve living conditions for beneficiary families and contribute to long-term recovery and stability in flood-affected communities across Kismayo.
